Since Doug Foley bought his first Camaro in 1991 he has never looked back. Racing was in his blood and Doug would make competing at the highest level, in the fastest machines, his life and his passion. In 1996 he decided to invest in a top alcohol racing operation and make the track home for his wife Shelagh and his new son Douglas.
While Doug was competing in Top Alcohol Dragster in 1997 he opened the Doug Foley Racing School at Lebanon Valley Dragway. With the school Doug could share his passion for pure speed and acceleration with others and nothing makes him happier than to see the experience unfold from training to the finish line. Shortly after his second son Joseph was born Shelagh would join Doug behind the wheel and she was licensed in Super Comp Dragster. Now it was an official family business.
Success on the track came quickly as Doug finished #9 in the US in Top Alcohol Dragster including two Wally’s in 2003. Going pro in 2004 Doug won three nationals and finished 3rd in points in the IHRA and was honored as pro rookie of the year.
In 2006 Doug finished 2nd in Top Fuel Points Standing in the IHRA and in 2007 ran in 14 NHRA national events making 5 semi-finals. He was proud to earn the nickname Giant Killer.
Rounding out the family racing story Joseph was Jr. Dragster Champion at Atco Raceway in 2009. And later Douglas earned the championship at zMax Dragway in Super Pro. Now with the family focus on their Pure Speed Racing Experience, you can join the Foley’s on the track and find out what it’s like to drive for the thrill of it.
